UNC Charlotte's Safety program is designed to provide not only a safe and healthy working, teaching, and learning environment, but also an atmosphere of safety and health awareness through training and employee involvement. The participation and earnest cooperation of all faculty, staff, students and visitors are actively encouraged.

All members of the University community share the responsibility to provide and maintain a safe and healthful campus environment and to reduce or eliminate known hazards. Each individual is expected to exercise appropriate care in the conduct of his or her activities to preserve the safety and health of self and others.

Mission:

The mission of the UNC Charlotte Safety and Environmental Health office is to support the University Community by working with all university members to provide a safe and healthy working, teaching, learning, and living environment.  This involves the creation of an atmosphere of safety and environmental health awareness through training and faculty, staff, and student involvement, as well as a commitment to regulatory compliance.

Vision:

The Safety and Environmental Health (S&EH) office will be a leader in providing high quality, responsive, customer-focused service to the campus community we serve.  The focus of efforts by the S&EH department will be targeted at educating, facilitating, and fully supporting University Administration, managers, and individual employees.  These efforts will accumulate to establish, develop, and nurture cooperative ties, which will facilitate the achievement of UNC Charlotte’s goals and objectives.
